Type of Course:

Some courses are categorized by type in the course description using the following definitions:

Passport Transfer Course: Courses offered as part of The Approved Passport Course Roster. The Passport is a college program in which all courses are transferable and satisfy lower-division general education requirements at any Virginia public institution of higher education.
Uniform Certificate of General Studies Course: Courses offered as part of The Uniform Certificate of General Studies (UCGS). The UCGS is a one-year college program in which all courses are transferable and satisfy lower-division general education requirements at any Virginia public institution of higher education.
Passport and UCGS Course: Courses that satisfy both The Passport and Uniform Certificate of General Studies (UCGS) programs.
Dual Enrollment Course: Courses that are offered at secondary schools by credentialed faculty where Laurel Ridge Community College has a contract for dual enrollment.
Electives: Courses that may be used to meet certain program requirements at Laurel Ridge Community College. In order to determine if course(s) meet the same requirements at your transfer College/University, it is recommended that you check with your advisor and transfer institution prior to selecting courses.
