SUR 135 - Infection Control

Introduces the fundamentals of surgical microbiology. Topics include: historical development of microbiology, cell structure and theory, microbial function, human and pathogen relationships, infectious process, blood borne and airborne pathogens, defense microorganisms, infection control and microbial control and destruction. Lecture 2 hours per week.

Prerequisite(s): Admission into the program.
