				The associate of science degree program with a major in Science and a Health Professions specialization is designed for students who are interested in health professions programs who plan to transfer to a health profession such as: dental hygiene, occupational therapy, nursing, physical therapy, respiratory therapy, radiation technology, or other allied health programs. 
Students should be knowledgeable about the specific requirements of the four-year school to which they wish to transfer so that they make appropriate course choices.

 1 Students may elect from the following courses to fulfill the computer / information literacy requirement: ITE 152  or CSC 110 .  2 Students should check with the institution to which they will be transferring to determine the most appropriate math courses to take at Laurel Ridge Community College - MTH 245 - Statistics I  should be taken prior to transferring.  3 ELECTIVES General Studies All Programs (excluding Liberal Arts Degrees)    4 One full sequence of science with a lab is required. BIO 141  and BIO 142  are the recommended sequence.  5 May be BIO, CHM, CSC, EGR, GOL, HIM, MTH, NAS, or PHY  6 Students should check with the institution to which they will be transferring to determine the most appropriate nutrition course to take at Laurel Ridge Community College. HLT 230 - Principles of Nutrition & Human Development  (3 credits) may be required for transfer.  													 |
