The certificate exposes students to foundational topics in computer science, which are of practical importance: programming, software design, web design, database, and computer networks. This certificate will prepare a student to obtain an entry-level technology job as a help desk technician or support specialist.

First Semester

ITN 106 - Microcomputer Operating Systems 3 cr.
ITD 110 - Web Page Design I 3 cr.
ITD 130 - Database Fundamentals 3 cr.

Semester Total: 9 Credits

Second Semester

ITE 120 - Principles of Information Systems 3 cr.
ITE 152 - Introduction to Digital Literacy and Computer Applications 3 cr. OR
CSC 110 - Principles of Computer Science 3 cr.
CSC Elective 3-4 cr.¹

Semester Total: 9-10 Credits

Program Total: 18-19 Credits

Industry Certifications - Credit for Prior Learning (Certification not older than 2 years):

ITD 110 - CIW Web Design Specialist
ITD 130 - Microsoft Technology Associate, Database Fundamentals (98-364).
ITN 106 - CompTIA A+ Software Exam (220-1002).

¹ Elective should be chosen based upon career path. Elective may include any course with the prefix CSC, ITP, ITN, ITD, GIG, UMS or ENG 113 or ART 283 .
