Program Description/Purpose: The purpose of this career studies certificate is to introduce students to small business management principles and techniques.

Occupational Outcomes: Entry-level management/supervisor positions in business.

Program Student Learning Outcomes

1. Students will apply basic principles and techniques of management to recruit, select, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate employees.
2. Students will understand the economic, social and political forces, both domestic and international, that affect the business enterprise.
3. Create and use effective oral, written, and visual business communication skills.
4. Critically evaluate the alternatives faced in business decision making to select the most effective and efficient solution.
