Designed to prepare students for working in an early childhood development setting. Possible occupations for graduates include instructional assistants or preschool and childcare workers.

First Semester

SDV 100 - College Success Skills 1 cr. OR
SDV 101 - Orientation to Education Professions 1 cr.
CHD 120 - Introduction to Early Childhood Education 3 cr.
CHD 145 - Teaching Art, Music & Movement to Children 3 cr.
CHD 205 - Guiding the Behavior of Children 3 cr.

Semester Total: 10 Credits

Second Semester

CHD 165 - Observation & Participation in Early Childhood/Primary Settings 3 cr. ¹
EDU 235 - Health, Safety and Nutrition Education 3 cr.

Semester Total: 6 Credits

Program Total: 16 Credits

¹ This is a practicum course, 60 hours of observation & participation in a childcare center is required. Students may need a background check, fingerprinting and/or TB Screening at the students’ expense.
