RN to Paramedic Bridge

This RN to Paramedic bridge curriculum does not involve a certificate or degree and is non-transferrable. Applicants to the RN to Paramedic program must be:

  • Currently licensed in Virginia as a Registered Nurse.
  • Currently participating as an active EMS field provider or actively working as an RN (the term “active” as used above for both the field provider and RN is defined as a minimum average of eight (8) hours a week over the two previous years or a total of eight hundred thirty-two (832) hours within the previous two years (8 hours/wk X 2 years = 832 hours).

Program Curriculum


Semester Total: 11 Credits


Semester Total: 12 Credits


Program Total: 23 Credits


Students that successfully complete this curriculum will be considered to have met the requirements for the Paramedic Certificate. Upon successful completion of the program and approvals of the Physician Course Director and the Program Director, student is eligible to sit for the National Registry Paramedic Exam.
