Program Description/Purpose: The Career Studies Certificate in Financial Services builds industry knowledge and skills for individuals to prepare for careers in Financial Services. This CCL will introduce students new to or interested in financial services to the fundamental concepts of banking, investments, consumer behavior, and sales functions.
Occupational Outcomes: Upon completion of the career studies certificate, students are employable as entry-level workers in various banking and financial institutions.
Program Student Outcomes
Students who complete the Financial Services Career Studies Certificate will:
- Explain basic entry-level financial services industry functions and their integration into the banking and credit union industry
- Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills
- Apply critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Distinguish the importance of an ethical work environment
- Apply information and technology tools relevant to the profession
- Demonstrate effective customer service management skills
