Program Description/Purpose: This career studies certificate emphasizes land and field surveying practices and office techniques, as well as utilizing a variety of instruments including levels, total stations, and GPS units.

Occupational Outcomes: Graduates of this program, through the required courses, will be prepared for an entry-level position in the surveying field.

Program Student Learning Outcomes

  1. Demonstrate skills in the use of surveying equipment including levels, total stations, GPS units, and data collectors.
  2. Demonstrate familiarity with procedures for boundary, topographic and construction surveys and demonstrate ability to prepare and analyze topographic maps.
  3. Apply computer-aided drafting (CAD) concepts and components used in industry to process field data into a CAD format.
  4. Demonstrate an understanding of land records research.

Courses are displayed under the semester in which they are regularly offered and are recommended to be taken in this sequence to ensure timely graduation. It is possible that a course shown in a particular semester may not be offered due to low enrollment or other factors.
