Program Description/Purpose: Provides educational opportunities for those who seek employment in industry, for those who desire to upgrade their knowledge or acquire practical skills in the field, and for those who wish to transfer and complete a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology.
Occupational Outcomes: Upon completion of this program, occupational objectives include draftsman/designer, engineer’s aide, engineering technician, industrial test technician, or other related positions.
Program Student Learning Outcomes
- Students will demonstrate the ability to correctly design and effectively communicate a true 3D parametric design of a mechanical object.
- Students will demonstrate the ability to determine the forces acting on members of a pin-connected structure due to externally applied loads.
- Students will demonstrate the ability to calculate maximum torsional shear stresses in a shaft assembly due to applied torque.
- Courses are listed by the semester they are usually offered.
- Course availability in a given semester may vary.
- You can change the order or number of classes each semester, but taking fewer classes in a semester will mean more semesters to finish the program.
