Program Description: The Fine Arts Major degree is designed to provide students with a comprehensive foundation in the visual arts. This two-year program is ideal for students passionate about art and seeking to develop their creative skills, critical thinking abilities, and a strong portfolio for further studies or careers in the visual arts. The Fine Arts Major is designed for transferring to a four-year institution for completion of a baccalaureate degree program, usually the Bachelor of Arts degree, the terminal degree for creative careers.
Program Student Learning Outcomes:
- Develop proficiency in a variety of media through exploration of a wide range of art materials, tools, and techniques.
- Create works of art that express a unique, creative voice utilizing various visual arts media.
- Analyze critically works of art and solve creative design problems through the lens of historical, cultural, and conceptual contexts.
- Create a diverse and professional portfolio showcasing artistic range, technical mastery, and innovation.
- Cultivate marketable career skills relevant to the arts.
- Below is the recommended course sequence for full-time students.
- Courses are listed by the semester they are usually offered.
- Course availability in a given semester may vary.
- You can change the order or number of classes each semester, but taking fewer classes in a semester will mean more semesters to finish the program.
- Please discuss your plan including elective selection with your advisor to ensure it meets your academic goals.
- Students who complete this degree will also complete and be awarded the Uniform Certificate of General Studies.

Program Total: 61-62 Credits
