Program Description/Purpose: This program provides students with a thorough understanding of software design and development. Students will learn how to create applications using multiple programming languages. This program prepares the student to design and implement traditional/legacy stand-alone and client-server applications using procedural and object-oriented development techniques.
Occupational Outcomes: Entry-level positions in software design and development. When combined with experience and possible completion of the IST degree program, students earning this CSC can find employment opportunities in a number of areas like software developer trainee, junior programmer/analyst, or other related entry-level positions.
Program Student Learning Outcomes:
- Students will comprehend software and systems design with a focus on Event-Driven application development using the Visual Basic.NET programming language.
- Students will comprehend software and systems design with a focus on Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) application development using the Java programming language.
