The Administration of Justice certificate program opens multiple career paths in the criminal justice system field. The program also offers further in-service training for sworn officers or others currently working in the criminal justice system who wish to enhance their job performance or seek promotion in their current jobs. Students completing this certificate program will be better prepared to obtain entry-level employment in a variety of criminal justice jobs including policing, security, corrections, prevention and aftercare and courts.

First Semester

SDV 100 - College Success Skills 1 cr.
ENG 111 - College Composition I 3 cr.
Social Science Elective 3 cr. ¹
ADJ Elective 3 cr. ²
ADJ 107 - Survey of Criminology 3 cr.
ITE - Information Literacy Elective 3 cr. ³

Semester Total: 16 Credits

Second Semester

ADJ 100 - Survey of Criminal Justice 3 cr.
ADJ 105 - The Juvenile Justice System 3 cr.
ADJ 140 - Introduction to Corrections 3 cr.
ADJ Elective 3 cr. ²
CST 100 - Principles of Public Speaking 3 cr.

Program Total: 31 Credits

² Student should choose from the following electives: ADJ 164 , ADJ 171 , ADJ 172 , ADJ 228 , SOC 268 , or PSY 215 .

³Students should select from the list of ELECTIVES General Studies All Programs (excluding Liberal Arts) 1 - 5 (depending on course/program) .
