ITD 125 - Cognitive Foundations for Interface and Instructional Design (Fall Only) 3 cr.
Examines cognitive foundations for interface and instructional design that involve understanding how people learn and process information to create effective and intuitive experiences. Covers key principles including minimizing cognitive load by reducing extraneous information, leveraging cognitive processes like attention and memory, and designing applications and interfaces for the user’s needs and tasks. Provides students with the opportunity to apply these principles to a design that ensures users are able to complete the application tasks efficiently.
