General Engineering Technology - Computer-Aided Drafting Technology, AAS (968-04)

Program Description/Purpose: Provides thorough preparation in drafting, emphasizing the use of computers and, particularly, computer-aided design and drafting.

Occupational Outcomes: Upon completion of this program, occupational objectives include CAD operator, CAD technician, drafting technician, engineer’s aid, or other related positions.

Program Student Learning Outcomes:

  1. Students will demonstrate the ability to utilize spreadsheet software to organize data and solve repetitive engineering calculations in a presentable manner.
  2. Students will demonstrate the ability to correctly design and effectively communicate a true 3D parametric design of a mechanical assembly with multiple parts, including animation of assembly.
  3. Students will demonstrate the ability to design and effectively communicate a true 3D parametric design of an architectural structure through a complete design proposal.
