Business Administration Degree, AS (213)

Program Description/Purpose: Designed for students who plan to transfer to a four-year college or university to complete a baccalaureate degree in accounting, business administration, economics, finance, management, or marketing.

Program Student Learning Outcomes:

  1. Students will interpret scenarios and mathematical models describing price, cost, or quantity relationships in a business environment and use problem-solving skills to prescribe appropriate economic policy. 
  2. Apply basic rules of financial accounting to business transactions OR apply principles and practices of accounting to analyze and interpret general-purpose financial statements.
  3. Apply basic rules of managerial accounting to business decision-making.

  • Please discuss your plan including elective selection with your advisor to ensure it meets your academic goals.
  • Students who complete this degree will also complete and be awarded the Uniform Certificate of General Studies.  

Business Administration Degree Curriculum Requirements:

Student Development (1 cr)


Mathematics (3-4 cr)


Calculus (MTH 261  or MTH 263 ) is required. Depending on math placement, another math course like MTH 161  or MTH 167  may need to be completed before calculus can be taken.

Communications (3 cr)

Consult with your advisor regarding options for this specific course requirement.

Elective (3-5 cr)


Students must earn at least 60 total credit hours to earn the degree. Students may take a math prerequisite course or additional business elective to meet this requirement.

Program Total: 62-65 Credits


It is highly recommended that students consult with their academic advisor to select the most appropriate course for their curriculum and/or transferability to another college.
