Program Description/Purpose: Designed for students who seek full-time employment in the accounting field immediately upon completion of the community college curriculum.
Occupational Outcomes: Upon completion of this degree program occupational objectives include accounts receivable and accounts payable clerks, bank tellers and managers, industry accountant, retail business accountant, self-employed accounting and tax services or service business accountant.
Program Student Learning Outcomes:
- Apply basic rules of financial accounting to business transactions.
- Apply principles and practices of accounting to analyze and interpret general purpose financial statements.
- Apply basic rules of managerial accounting to business decision making.
- Demonstrate an understanding of compliance in accounting, reporting and tax.
- Evaluate the legal, ethical, and social implications of business decisions and their impact on various individuals, groups, and societies.
- Students will demonstrate an overall knowledge of the underlying theory of financial accounting.
