This program prepares students to seek employment or advancement in law enforcement and related agencies. Entry-level job opportunities for graduates include police officer, deputy sheriff, state trooper, correctional officer, dispatcher, security officer, loss prevention officer, records technician, and deputy court clerk.
Program Student Learning Outcomes:
- Demonstrate knowledge of law enforcement administration and operations in relation to the criminal justice system.
- Apply ethical principles to situations encountered in law enforcement.
- Demonstrate knowledge of patrol procedures, criminal investigation and techniques, basic crime scene response and investigation, and forensic applications to law enforcement.
- Demonstrate understanding of substantive law, procedural and evidentiary rules, and constitutional law principles.
- Demonstrate understanding of community-law enforcement relationships.
- Demonstrate understanding of criminology theories in relation to law enforcement.
