Program Description/Purpose: The human resource management career studies certificate is designed to prepare students for human resources positions in a variety of organizations. The program of study covers key human resources principles and techniques, including employee recruitment and selection, training and development, compensation management, and employment law.
Occupational Outcomes: Upon completion of the career studies certificate, students are employable as entry-level human resources workers in a variety of industries.
Program Student Learning Outcomes:
- Identify trends in human resource management and components needed to develop a human resource plan. (BUS 205 )
- Develop and evaluate employee compensation systems. (BUS 214 )
- Design and access training programs for learning organizations that utilize human resource development theory. (BUS 217 )
- Apply principles and techniques of management to recruit, staff, retain, and evaluate employees. (BUS 218 )
- Understand the legal environment of business and key aspects of employment law. (BUS 240 )
