Completion of the Early Childhood Development Career Studies Certificate (221-636-06) is a prerequisite for completion of the Advanced Early Childhood Development Career Studies Certificate.

This curriculum is designed to build upon entry-level skills demonstrated in the Early Childhood Development Career Studies Certificate and as documented by Virginia’s Competencies for Early Childhood Professionals. The Advanced Early Childhood Development Career Studies Certificate incorporates a wider range of child developmental stages and more work on curriculum planning, instruction and assessment. Moreover, it incorporates competencies required for administration of early childhood programs and leadership positions within a childcare setting.
