Program Description/Purpose: This certificate will create a pathway into a health-related profession and will strengthen the academic record of students applying for nursing, dental hygiene, surgical technology, and practical nursing programs, as well as future health-related programs.
Program/Student Learning Outcomes
- Exhibit effective written and oral communication.
- Identify anatomical structures and explain the physiological aspects and functions of the human body.
- Discuss the mental processes and behaviors associated with human psychology.
- Demonstrate understanding of foundations of a specific health related profession.

2 If no specific Psychology course is required in the program as noted below, a social/behavioral science or program elective may be substituted.
3 Review catalog for specific course/program requirements for HCT 115 , MDL 105 , MDL 106 , and NUR 27 . Note that MDL 105 and MDL 106 are part of the Phlebotomy program, which has a selective admissions process.
