Legal Administration, Certificate

Program Description/Purpose: Designed to provide an individual with a sufficient level of knowledge, understanding and proficiency to perform tasks as an assistant in a legal setting. 

Occupational Outcomes: The occupational objectives include entry-level employment in public and private organizations as a legal administrative assistant or deputy court clerk.

Program Student Learning Outcomes

  1. Students will effectively recognize the unauthorized practice of law.
  2. Students will prepare a legal contract utilizing proper format, elements, legal terminology, grammar, and punctuation.
  3. Students will recognize and resolve potential legal and ethical conflicts of interest.  

Courses are displayed under the semester in which they are regularly offered and are recommended to be taken in this sequence to ensure timely graduation. It is possible that a course shown in a particular semester may not be offered due to low enrollment or other factors.

Certificate Curriculum


Program Total: 32 Credits


LGL 215  and LGL 216  are suggested for students without a specialty interest as it enhances general legal skills. Students are advised to meet with an academic or faculty advisor for optimum course selection.
