Program Description/Purpose: This Career Studies Certificate program will offer students the opportunity to explore technology topics within the fields of Computer Science, Cybersecurity, and Information Systems Technology. For students who are unsure of a specific career path within the technology area, this program provides courses in principles of computer science, information systems, networking basics, and programming concepts.
Occupational Outcomes: Entry-level IT generalist positions. Possible positions could include internships and trainee positions to provide an opportunity to gain valuable on-the-job experience.
Program Student Learning Outcomes
- Students will demonstrate a fundamental level of IT knowledge and skills on data communication, network modes of transmission and protocols.
- Students will understand the role of computers in business today including hardware, software, systems analysis and design, and implementation of information systems.
Courses are displayed under the semester in which they are regularly offered and are recommended to be taken in this sequence to ensure timely graduation. It is possible that a course shown in a particular semester may not be offered due to low enrollment or other factors.
