Liberal Arts - Fine Arts Specialization, AA&S

Program Description/Purpose: Designed for students who plan to transfer to a four-year institution to complete a baccalaureate degree program, usually the Bachelor of Arts degree, in visual arts or related fields that would necessitate a studio art experience.

Program Student Learning Outcomes

  1. Students will draw from observation with an emphasis on purposeful mark-making.
  2. Students will create the illusion of a three-dimensional form on a two-dimensional surface through the use of linear perspective and tonal value.
  3. Students will create a 2D Figure and Ground Unified Design in black and white.

Courses are displayed under the semester in which they are regularly offered and are recommended to be taken in this sequence to ensure timely graduation. It is possible that a course shown in a particular semester may not be offered due to low enrollment or other factors.

Program Curriculum


Program Total: 60-62 Credits


1 A one-year sequence of biology, chemistry, geology or physics is recommended; however, depending on the requirements of four-year institutions, two one-semester courses in different sciences may be substituted with advisor approval.
