Program Description/Purpose: Allows students the flexibility of moving into transfer programs in leisure science, wellness, and health promotion, parks and outdoor recreation, forestry or camp management, sport management/marketing/coaching, hospitality and travel, tourism, and events management, non-profit leadership, therapeutic recreation, and similar fields of study.
Occupational Outcomes: Prepares students for leadership and management positions in sports, recreation, tourism, non-profit, and therapeutic recreation.
Program Student Learning Outcomes
- Students will recall knowledge related to the history, leadership, programming, and outdoor skills involved in pursuing a career in the recreation industry.
- Students will demonstrate effective communication skills and use recreation professionalism standards during each of their two 32-hour practicum experiences.
- Students will recall knowledge related to the history, leadership, programming, and outdoor skills involved in preparing for a career in the recreation industry.
